I foolishly thought that moving to the East Coast, my seasonal allergies would be magically cured.
Imagine my surprise today when, for no apparent reason, I am sneezing and sniffing like I have the world's worst head-cold. I've dosed up on the usual drugs that a hay fever sufferer takes....Afrin, Sudafed --- nothing. Still sneezing all the live-long day.
I choose to blame in on New Jersey, which I am told is the direction the winds are blowing today. New Yorker's have a strong dis-taste for anything New Jersey, so today I am jumping on the bandwagon.
That's right. New Jersey stinks...for today anyway.

Welcome to the club! The minute I stepped in DC I couldn't stop sneezing and my eyes were just watering non stop!
Be careful with that Afrin, I've been horribly addicted to it.
I'm interested in hearing from people about how seasonal allergies keep them from doing their best work on the job. I'm an editor at Harvard Business Review and have posted a blog item that examines the serious effects on worker productivity caused by relatively mild ailments such as hay fever. If you have experience with this, please comment at

Thanks.
